AGA Building is a family-run builder based in Rydalmere, working right across Sydney. We build new homes and duplexes, and renovate and extend existing homes. We manage everything from design and approvals (CDC or DA) through to handover, and take on a small number of projects each year so Andrew can supervise every one.

Andrew started as an apprentice carpenter at 16 and later earned a Bachelor of Construction Project Management from UTS. Our business grew out of renovations, extensions and carpentry before we took on new homes and duplexes, so we understand both building new and working with existing homes. Meet the team →
How it works
- Free consultation. We visit your site or home, listen to what you want and give honest advice on what’s possible.
- Design and feasibility. Plans that suit your site, budget and the way you want to live, drawn with real building costs in mind.
- Approvals. We work out the quickest approval path, a complying development certificate (CDC) or a council development application (DA), and manage it for you along with all the consultant reports.
- Construction. Built on time and on budget, with Andrew supervising on site and constant communication with you.
- Handover. A final walkthrough together, with every certificate and warranty document handed over.

Common questions
Do you do renovations and extensions as well as new builds?
Yes. We build new homes and duplexes, and we also renovate and extend existing homes. It’s where our business started over 20 years ago.
Can you help with design and approvals?
Yes. We can manage the whole design and approval process, whether that’s a CDC or a council DA, with our local consultants, or build from plans your own architect has prepared.
Can I build a duplex on my block?
Since July 2024, NSW allows dual occupancies in R2 low-density zones with development consent, but minimum lot sizes and other rules vary by council. Send us your address and we’ll check it for free.
Which areas do you build in?
Anywhere in Sydney. We’re based in Rydalmere and have built everywhere from Parramatta to Paddington.
