Knockdown rebuilds

Own an older house on a good block? A knockdown rebuild replaces it with a brand-new home without leaving the street you love. We handle the whole process: demolition, design, approvals and construction.

Depending on your block, you may also be able to build two homes instead of one – live in one and lease or sell the other. See duplexes.

Built your way

We’ve built everything from simple, practical family homes through to high-end designs. Whether the plans come from your architect or ours, every home gets the same attention to detail and on-site supervision from Andrew.

How it works

1. First meeting. We visit your site or home, check zoning, lot size, slope and orientation, listen to what you want and give honest advice on what’s possible.
2. Design and feasibility. Plans that suit your site, budget and the way you want to live, drawn with real building costs in mind.
3. Approvals. We work out the quickest approval path, a complying development certificate (CDC) or a council development application (DA), and manage it for you along with all the consultant reports.
4. Demolition (knockdown rebuilds). The existing house and outbuildings are removed and the site is prepared.
5. Construction. Built on time and on budget, with Andrew supervising on site and constant communication with you.
6. Handover. A final walkthrough together, with every certificate and warranty document handed over.

Yes. We regularly build from plans prepared by our clients’ architects, or we can manage the design for you.

What should I have ready for a knockdown rebuild?

Your property address and a survey if you have one, whether you want one home or two, a rough budget, and a plan for where you’ll live during the build.
